Applications are open for the 2018 Black Church Cemetery Project (BCCP) Bioarchaeology Field school taking place at the Institute of Archaeology ‘V. Pârvan’, c/o The Romanian Academy in Bucharest (Romania).
Our intensive two-week field school offers a fantastic opportunity to gain theoretical and hands-on experience on this well-preserved and archaeologically well-documented medieval Transylvanian skeletal assemblage through lectures, seminars and lab activities delivered by instructors and guest speakers on human skeletal remains post-excavation processing (cleaning, curation, analysis and storage), skeletal anatomy, paleopathology, burial practices and bone photography and photogrammetry.
This is also a great opportunity to visit and discover Romania and its vibrant capital city.
