The Department of Anthropology at The University of Texas at Austin invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Evolutionary Anthropology to begin in the fall semester of the 2023-24 academic year. Preferred areas of specialization include (but are not strictly limited to): hominin evolution and modern human origins; innovative applications of ancient DNA; evolutionary energetics and physiology; anthropological genetics, genomics, and epigenetics; and adaptations to climate and disease.
The successful candidate will be expected to develop an active program of research, demonstrate evidence of successful research productivity, teach both undergraduate and graduate courses, direct graduate research, and engage in service to the department, college, and university.
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. no later than August 15, 2023. Candidates who have, or are developing, active field programs and complementary laboratory research are especially encouraged to apply. The Department is interested in candidates who will contribute to diversity and equal opportunity in higher education through their teaching, research, and service.
