Centre College invites applications for a tenure-track position in Anthropology, with preference for Biological Anthropology or Bioarchaeology, at the level of Assistant Professor beginning August 2023. We will prioritize individuals teaching from a justice-oriented perspective that will appeal to an increasingly diverse student body eager to apply anthropology to problems in their everyday lives.
Qualifications Area of research specialization and geographic area are open, but we seek passionate, engaging, and student-focused teacher and mentor. An ideal candidate will have teaching and research interests in biological anthropology or bioarchaeology complementary to our existing strengths in the Anthropology and Sociology Program.
The successful candidate will teach: 1) an introductory course on human evolution, 2) courses within the general education curriculum, and 3) elective courses in their areas of specialization. Candidates must have completed a PhD in a relevant discipline by August 1, 2023. We strongly encourage applications from candidates who further diversify our faculty, demonstrate success in supporting and mentoring a diverse student body, and utilize inclusive pedagogical practices.
