PhD Position in dental enamel hypoplasia and microwear texture analysis (m/f/d; E13 TV-L, 50%)
The Paleoanthropology Workgroup at the Institute of Archaeological Sciences, University of Tübingen invites applications for a PhD studentship in analysis of dental enamel hypoplasia and microwear in early South American populations.
The position will start as soon as possible and will be limited to a period of 3 years. Salary will be according to the German salary system TV-L E13 at 50%.
Applicants must hold a MA/MSc degree or equivalent and must have research experience in the fields of Palaeoanthropology, Bioarchaeology, Biological Anthropology or related. The successful applicant will also have experience with the analysis of dental remains and with methods for reconstruction of subsistence. Familiarity with the archaeological record of South America will be preferred.
Applicants are required to have a very good command of spoken and written English, and some experience in the writing of scientific publications. The successful applicant must be prepared to travel abroad for the study of materials (travel costs will be covered).
