The Department of Anthropology at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign invites applications for an Instructor or Visiting Assistant Professor in Biological Anthropology with scholarly interests in one or more of the following: paleoanthropology, human evolutionary anatomy and biomechanics. This is a non-tenure-track, full time, one-year appointment, with the possibility of extension for a second year, pending administrative approval. The anticipated start date is August 16, 2022; the salary is commensurate with qualifications. Successful candidates are expected to teach effectively at both the undergraduate and graduate levels and have the potential to pursue an active and independent research program. A PhD in Anthropology or related field is required by the appointment start date. Candidates with superior qualifications who will complete all the Ph.D. requirements within the first appointment semester may be appointed at the rank of Instructor. After the Ph.D. requirement is met, the appointment will be changed to Visiting Assistant Professor.
