Department Description The School of Anatomical Sciences wishes to appoint a Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor in the field of Biological Anthropology as broadly conceived to include human biological variation, growth and development, paleoanthropology, skeletal biology, and forensic anthropology. It is expected that the appointee will meaningfully contribute to the teaching, research, and course development of the School. Experience in teaching Morphological (Gross) Anatomy and postgraduate supervision in any of the above-mentioned Biological Anthropology fields is required, as well as a proven track record in research. The School is research orientated and has well-equipped laboratories.

Brief Posting Description Responsibilities: Major teaching responsibilities will involve teaching of Morphological Anatomy to undergraduate and postgraduate medical students and those in allied medical disciplines and science; teaching Biological Anthropology (Human Biology) to undergraduate science and health sciences students; administration of courses; supervision of postgraduate students; generation of research grants and publications; and participation in the activities of the School, Faculty of Health Sciences/Faculty of Science, and the University.

Qualifications and experience: A PhD in an appropriate field is required. A proven track record in research and postgraduate supervision is essential. The successful candidate should have experience in teaching in a Health Sciences/Science context.

Remuneration: Dependent on qualifications and experience. The package includes a provident fund, medical aid and bursaries for self and dependents subject to University regulations.
