Responsibilities: A successful candidate will develop and use statistical frameworks to analyze large-scale genomic data sets to reconstruct the evolutionary history of modern and ancient human populations (as well as human and non-human primates) and to gain insights into genetic adaptations. Expected responsibilities include conducting research, attending weekly lab meetings, participating to scientific journal clubs, preparing research findings for publication and presenting reports at professional meetings. Opportunities exist for mentoring graduate and undergraduate students.

Qualifications o PhD in Evolutionary Biology, Computational Biology, Population Genetics, Statistics, Biostatistics, Computer Science, Biological Anthropology, or disciplines with strong quantitative backgrounds o Strong programming and bioinformatics skills (R, Python Perl, or C/C++, Bash scripting, cluster computing, etc) o Research experience in population genetics analyses and working with large sequencing data sets. o Strong background in statistical inference o Independent, motivated, creative, and collegial o Strong writing skills.
