POSITION SUMMARY

The Laboratory Coordinator reports to the Anatomy Director and is responsible for day-to-day operations, security, and safety of the human anatomy laboratories for the College of Medicine and the College of Health Professions in support of the Anatomy Director.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree; preferably in anatomy, biology, anthropology, physiology or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience that equates to four years. Experience related to cadaver laboratory management in an educational environment. Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task and set priorities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills with an emphasis on customer service. Demonstrated high professional and ethical standards. Ability to perform the essential functions of the job.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience as a lab assistant in a veterinary office or funeral home. A willingness to learn necessary federal and state rules governing cadaver procurement/maintenance.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Procures and maintains cadavers for the anatomy labs in the College of Medicine and the College of Health Professions. Ensures the effective daily operations of the laboratories, which include, but are not limited to: preservation of human specimens, maintaining of model collections, mold control, ordering laboratory supplies and maintain budget and set-up of teaching laboratory sessions in both labs. Ensures adherence to appropriate policies and state and federal environmental regulations. Delivers excellent customer service to all constituents including students, faculty and support departments. Establishes and maintains appropriate records. Interfaces with other campus offices as required. Works collaboratively with others. Works with representatives from public and private entities related to regulations and safety in cooperation with the Faculty. Demonstrates commitment to diversity by working to develop a culture of inclusion and mutual respect. Performs other duties as assigned.

PAY RANGE

$16.64 - $25.64
