Job Title: Biological Anthropologist

Background: Loyola University Chicago (LUC), College of Arts and Sciences, Department of Anthropology invites applications for a full-time position as a Lecturer in Biological Anthropology (preference given to Medical Anthropology), beginning Fall 2020. The appointment is full-time, non-tenure track with a multi-year renewable contract. The department serves over 100 majors and minors, offers BA and BS degrees, and is a substantial contributor to the University Core Curriculum and Interdisciplinary Programs. Duties and Responsibilities: We seek candidates with an excellent record of teaching and a deep commitment to undergraduate education in medical, biological or applied anthropology, whose expertise focuses on issues including global and local health disparities in living populations, health outreach and education, and/or ethics and inequities. Candidates will be expected to teach four courses per semester, the majority of which will be the College of Arts and Sciences Foundational Core Course UCSF 137: The Scientific Basis of Environmental Issues. The candidate will also be expected to contribute to and develop interdisciplinary teaching initiatives that enhance collaboration between Life and Medical Sciences, Social Sciences, and the Humanities, develop courses specifically designed to support and enhance the Anthropology program alongside other programs such as Public Health, Environmental Science, and Biology, and develop new opportunities for student experiential learning

Minimum Qualifications: Requirements include a Ph.D. in hand by May 2020 in anthropology, an exceptional enthusiasm for and commitment to undergraduate teaching, and a dedication to student development.
