The Center for Anatomical Sciences at the University of North Texas Health Sciences Center in Fort Worth, TX invites applications for a tenure-track or tenured faculty position in evolutionary, functional, and/or clinical anatomy. We seek an outstanding, broadly-trained anatomist whose research program will complement existing program strengths in biomechanics, functional morphology, evolutionary biology, paleoanthropology/paleontology, human variation, and movement/cognitive neuroscience. Research laboratory space and competitive start-up funds are available. The UNTHSC anatomy teaching schedule provides substantial time for field-based research in the spring and summer.

The successful applicant will 1) have an active record of research and scholarship, 2) demonstrate a history/potential of obtaining external funding, 3) be able create research opportunities for anatomy graduate (MS/PhD) students, and 4) possess a strong commitment to teaching dissection-based human gross anatomy. The successful applicant must have a PhD, DO, MD, or equivalent degree in hand by September 1, 2020.

The new hire will contribute to lecture and laboratory instruction of cadaver-based human gross anatomy courses for medical (MD and DO), physical therapy, physician assistant, and graduate students. Teaching abilities in histology, embryology, or neuroanatomy are desirable, but not required. Faculty may additionally develop graduate-level elective courses in their area of expertise. The hire will also be expected to mentor anatomy graduate students (MS, PhD), with additional opportunities to train dual-degree students (MD/PhD, DO/PhD, and DPT/PhD).
