Position: Assistant Professor of Biological Anthropology

Effective Date: August 17, 2020 (Fall Semester)

Salary Range: Commensurate with qualifications and experience Required Qualifications: • Ph.D. in Anthropology • Degree at time of application or official notification of completion of the doctoral degree by August 1, 2020 • Demonstrated potential for research productivity • Demonstrated potential for successful teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels • Demonstrated commitment to working successfully with a diverse student population Preferred Qualifications: • Trained in Biological Anthropology • Demonstrated experience working with living human populations • Evidence of a solid foundation in evolutionary theory and the theories and methods of biological and biocultural anthropology • Demonstrated ability to teach courses such as Introduction to Physical Anthropology, Research Methods in Biological Anthropology, Human Variation, Human Growth and Development, Osteology, Interdisciplinary Approaches to Health, and Human Evolution in support of Anthropology and Human Development majors • Ongoing or potential research projects that can foster student involvement and advance student career opportunities • Demonstrated potential to contribute to the anthropology program and to form interdisciplinary partnerships

Duties: • Teach undergraduate and graduate level courses • Mentor undergraduate and graduate students in research projects • Serve on thesis committees • Develop and sustain research, scholarly and creative activities leading to publication and presentations • Establish interdisciplinary research partnerships • Participate in service to the department, college, and university • Collaborate with faculty to further the goals of the anthropology department • Participate in regional and national anthropology organizations
