The Department of Anthropology, Washington University in St. Louis (https://anthropology.wustl.edu), invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor appointment in Biological Anthropology with a specialization in Human Biology. We seek an exceptional researcher to join a department with historical excellence in biological anthropology. The successful candidate will be an individual with expertise in human biology and in global health, broadly defined as working with living human populations using theoretical frameworks from human biology. Candidates should explain how their research program relates directly or indirectly to important research questions in human biology, primatology, paleoanthropology and/or other disciplines in biological anthropology, as well as global health. The successful candidate is expected to work with graduate students in developing research projects and to have a strong commitment to both undergraduate and graduate teaching. Duties will include teaching assigned courses (including a lecture course on Global Health), conducting research, securing funding for research, writing for publication, advising students, participating in department governance, and university service. Applicants must have demonstrated excellence in empirical research, and will be expected to compete for external funding.
