Forensic Anthropology Post-Doctoral Research Associate Position

The Department of Anthropology, University of Tennessee, invites applications for the Haslam Forensic Anthropology Postdoctoral Fellowship program. It provides support for a motivated scholar to execute research using the remarkable resources of the Forensic Anthropology Center, including the Anthropology Research Facility and/or the extensive collection of donated and documented skeletons of modern Americans.

Fellows are also able to conduct forensic casework and assist with training of law enforcement personnel from around the world. Teaching opportunities may also be available, if desired. Salary is $48,000 and up to $10,000 will be available to support research each year of the two-year term.

Qualifications

Required qualifications include a recently awarded doctoral degree, demonstration of research capability as a graduate student, and a record of external funding. Individuals proficient in GIS and quantitative methods, entomology, data visualization or computational anthropology are especially encouraged to apply.

Appointment may begin as early as August 2019, for a two-year term with the possibility of renewal for a third year. Successful applicants are encouraged to submit collaborative research proposals to NIJ, NSF, NIH or similar granting agency.
